Redemptive Education is all about Life in the BRIE!
Anytime we “align with God’s design,” things work better. As Albert Einstein so famously remarked, ” . . . if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Fish are not meant to climb trees. In a world where the measure of value is one’s ability to climb trees, fish lose out every time! But when we allow that poor fish to do the job God designed it to do, it will perform admirably! Education – and especially education purporting to be Christ-centered – needs to “align with God’s design.”
God’s design is Biblical – all of scripture informs our understanding about all of creation, and its Creator.
God’s design is Relational – beginning with the interdependent love relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and then extending to all of His creation, including us!
God’s design is Integral – God Himself is whole Being, and He created the world to be a place of wholeness and shalom, rather than a place of fragmentation and isolation.
God’s design is Experiential – not merely “cerebral,” not merely “philosophical” – not even merely “spiritual.”
Life in the BRIE is what Redemptive Education is all about.
